TIFF 2019 adds Lucy in the Sky, Aeronauts and more

The 2019 iteration of the Toronto International Film Festival just added to their already stacked schedule of premieres, with titles including The Aeronauts – director Tom Harper’s hot-air-balloon adventure with Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones. Amazon’s awards hopeful will screen in the Gala programme alongside crime thriller The Burnt Orange Heresy, from La doppia hora director Giuseppe Capotondi, starring Claes Bang, Elizabeth Debicki, Mick Jagger, and Donald Sutherland. This will be the film’s North American premiere.

Other titles offer an indication of the eclectic flavour of this year’s line-up: Guns Akimbo, an action thriller starring Daniel Radcliffe, and Lucy in the Sky, Noah Hawley’s astronaut drama featuring Natalie Portman, will also make their world premieres. Elsewhere, It Comes at Night director Trey Edward Shults’ follow-up, the musical Waves, will make its international debut.

TIFF will commence on Thursday 5th September.
